The girls 4×800 was a tightly contested race, with the lead changing several times throughout. Mason broke away during the third leg and looked to have an insurmountable, but Westlake’s Sarah Peer ran an amazing anchor leg to bring her team the victory. Their time of 9:04.74 outdistanced 2nd place Mason by 3 seconds, and dropped 12 seconds off of their time from regionals. The Westlake team was made up of senior Sidney Peer, junior Ellie Irwin, sophomore Maggie Hennessy and junior Sarah Peer. Congratulations to the quartet from Westlake.
