Oakwood’s Bella Butler captures gold twice

On a day where the weather was not a distance runner’s dream, where the temperatures hovered around 90 degrees all day, Bella Butler seemed impervious to the heat.  When other distance runners struggled to double, she not only won the 1600 and 3200, but she did so in impressive times of 4:49.o1/10:49.66.  Last year she had finished 4th in the 1600 and runner-up in the 3200, but this year she wouldn’t be denied a state championship.  What a way to end a high school career. Congratulations to Oakwood’s Bella Butler on a great performance this year, and a great high school track career.
