Ryan Shackelford of Keystone won the Division 2 boys long jump with a tremendous leap of 25′ 6.5″. This leap would have qualified as the state meet and division 2 state record but for the fact that it was wind-aided. Legal wind is 2.0 or less meters per second. Ryan was last years’ champion with a jump of 24′ 1.5″. Clearly this leap even with a mildly over the limit wind would clearly have set both records. Ryan will participate in the 100 meter dash finals tomorrow where he is seeded 8th.
