The Woodridge girls 4 x 800 meter relay team punched their ticket to Columbus next weekend by winning the 4 x 800 relay at the Division 2 track & Field Tournament at Austintown last night. The Woodridge team of Marissa Boone, Joy McFarland, Eloise Willett and Reese Reaman ran 9:27.15 in route to the title.
The Marlington boys ran an impressive 7:56.34 in route to the win. That team was composed of Cohen Boyce, Michael Nicholls, Luke Ryan and Colin Cernansky.
Other state bound winners were: Jenna Young of Brooklyn-girls high jump (5′ 4″), Brayden Richards of Perry-pole vault (15′ 6″), Ryne Shackelford – boys long jump (23′ 1″) and Dillon Morlock in the boys discus (173′ 2″).
Finals start at 11 am saturday with field events with running event finals at 12:30pm.
