CVCA Boys and Salem Girls Gain Division 2 Track Titles at Salem District Meet

The CVCA boys and Salem Girls earned district division 2 track titles Saturday at Salem High School’s Sebo Stadium. The Salem girls scored 131.20 points to top the field. CVCA girls were runner ups. Top performances were turned in by McKenzie Neal of CVCA who won the 100 was 2nd in the 200 and the shot put . DeVonnah Smith the freshman from Buchtel won the 200, was 2nd in the 100 and was a member of the winning 4 x 200 and 4 x 100 relays.

On the boys side CVCA won the title scoring 98 points to best the field.  Fairless was 2nd with 79.50 points. Outstanding performances were turned in by Colin Cernansky of Marlington. He won the 800 in meet record time of 1:53.50. He also won the 1600 setting a new record at 4:17.09. He was also a member of the winning 4 x 800 relay team. Ty Bova of CVCA was a double winner in the hurdles taking both the 110H and the 300 hurdles. Luke Yoder of South Range was also a double winner winning the 100 and 200 dashes. Jesse Grace of Garrettsville Garfield won the shot and was 2nd in the discus.
