Twin Wins at the Optimist Meet As Twinsburg Boys, Girls Win Championships

 

 

The Twinsburg boys and girls were victorious at the 39th Optimist Meet at Austintown High School Saturday.  The boys team scored 65.5 points to edge 2nd place Bedford 64. The Twinsburg girls team was dominant as they scored 115 points to run away with the championship. Stow Monroe Falls was second with 70 points. 

GIRLS:  The Twinsburg girls were led by Nya Bussey who was the girls running MVP and also the high points award winner. She was 2nd the 100, the 200, and was a member of the winning 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays. Azsah Bradley of Ravenna was a double winner taking both sprint events. She won the 100 in 12.25 (wind 2.0), and the 200 in 25.04 (wind -1.0). Caitlyn Marx of Salem and Lauren Brown of Massillon Washington shared field MVP honors. Marx won the discus and was 3rd in the shot put. Brown was 2nd in the high jump and the long jump; each scored 16 points.

BOYS: Tyree Broyles of Massillon Washington was the boys running MVP and was also the overall high points winner accumulating 25 points in the meet. He won the 100 in 11.20 (-1.2 wind), the 200 in 22.53 (-1.6 wind), and was a member of the winning4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays. He scored 25 points overall.  Deondre McKeever of Austintown Fitch was the field MVP winning the long jump and placing 4th in the high jump.
