Orange’s Jasmine Harris breaks D2 State Record in the 100 meter hurdles

A week ago at the Austintown Regional, Jasmine Harris of Orange won the 100 meters hurdles in a time of 14.02.  That time allowed her to tie the division 2 state record, which was then held by Chelsea Scott of Columbus Bishop Hartley.  When she stepped on the track today at Jesse Owens Stadium, there was little doubt that she was going to do something special.  She got out of the blocks fast and by the time she got over the first few hurdles, it was clear that she was going to run a fast time.  She crossed the finish line, and then there was the wait for the official time.  13.92!!  The scoreboard showed that she had broken the state record that she had tied last week.  She is now the sole owner of the division 2 girls 100 meter hurdles record.
