Salem, Ohio – Louisville boys and girls captured NBC league championship titles at Salem High School Friday night. The boys nipped Alliance 104 to 103.50 to gain the boys title. The girls scored 132 points to edge Carrollton (129.50).
Perhaps the best race of the night came in the boys 1600 meter run. At 100 meters it was anyones’ race but Cole Lovett of Carrollton (4:14.69) edged out the Chaplicks from Louisville, Noah (4:15.18) and Nick (4:17.32) to win the race. All three bested the meet record of 4:20.15 set by Jarrod Williams of Louisville in 2009.
Other meet records set were as follows: Carrollton girls 4 x 800 meter relay (9:24.73) Grace Bartlow, Micah Donley, Allison Davis and Maddie Dunlap. Girls 1600 meter run Maddie Dunlap of Carrollton (5:02.02). Girls 400 meter run Micah Donley of Carrollton (57.32). Boys 800 meter run Nick Chaplick of Louisville (1:57.48). Girls 3200 run Maddie Dunlap of Carrollton (11:04.04). Boys 3200 meter run Zach Fresenko of Louisville (9:22.34). Boys 4 x 400 meter relay Louisville -Michael Seaman, Cole Watson, Nick Chaplick and Noah Chaplick. Girls shot put Alivia Bentley of Carrollton 44′ 4″.
