The Jefferson Area girls scored 128 points en route to an AAC White Tier Track & Field Championship Monday night at Poland High School. Poland was 2nd with 111.50 points. Kyndia Matlock set two new meet records. She won the 200 in 27.19 and the 100 in 12.95. She also ran an anchor leg on the Niles winning 4 x 200 meter relay. She came back to run another anchor leg on the Lady Red Dragons winning 4 x 100 meter relay ( a meet record). The Jefferson Area girls set a meet record in the 4 x 800 relay 10:15.82.
On the boys side of things, the Lakeview boys were victorious scoring 147.50 to 2nd place Poland’s 134 points. Kylel Griffin of Struthers and Jared Southern of Hubbard tied in the boys high jump at 6′ 00″ to set a new meet record in that event.
