In what was the nicest track day in a while, the Austintown Fitch boys and girls swept titles in division 1 at the 105th Mahoning County Track and Field Championship. The Fitch boys, led by Ruane winner Ralph Fitzgerald scored 186 points to out distance 2nd place Boardman (152). Ralph won the high points award (Ruane) scoring 25 individual points. He won the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and ran a leg on the 1st place 400 and 1600 relays. On the girls side, Fitch girls scored 186 points also to win their team title. Lauren Dolak won high points Ruane award. She won the 400 meter dash, the 800 meter run, the 1600 meter run and ran a leg on the 1st place 1600 meter relay. All in all, 32.50 points.
In division 2, the South Range track teams both won titles. The South Range girls led by high points winner Bethany Crouch scored 185 points to win the title. Bethany won the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash. On the boys side, the Raiders scored 170 points. Springfield was 2nd with 112.50 points. High points Ruane award winner for the boys was Garrett Walker of Springfield Local. He won the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, and ran a leg on the 1st place 400 and 800 meter relays.
