Amazing Performances-2019 OHSAA Track & Field Championship-Denzell Feagin-Pickerington Central

Denzell Feagin-Pickerington Central

Over the last 25 years that I have been attending the OHSAA track & field championships, I have recognized athletes who seem to glide over the track with effortless ease. A Ted Ginn Jr. or Abby Steiner come to mind. I got the same impression as I watched Denzell Feagin of Pickerington Central run yesterday. He started off the day winning the 100 meter dash in 10.67. He then came back anchoring the 4 x 200 meter relay team to a OHSAA Division 1 State record of 1: 24.42 (eclipsing the previous record set in 2005 by Glenville of 1:25.09). According to Athletes Net that is the # 4 times nationally. A few events later, he anchored the winning 4 x 100 meter relay team to a 41.49 clocking. Then, just to finish off the day, he ran a 21.44 to win the boys 200 meter dash final. Quite a busy day for a fine track & field athlete, Denzell Feagin. Just an aside, I can remember when a team swept all 4 relays in a state meet. Pickerington Central did it winning the 4 x 800 relay in 7:42.68 and the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:16.34.
